The work in the tunnel comprises, placement and compaction of Type 1 graded limestone fill, placement of 25mm crushed limestone blinding and a Visqueen slip membrane, prior to casting, finishing and curing a 200mm thick Grade C30/37, B785 steel mesh reinforced concrete 'roadway' slab with doweled movement joints and screw-fixed steel cover plates in rebates at each of the four gaps between tunnel sections.
