"description": "The Rough Sleeper Service and their outreach workers will visit locations where rough sleepers have been reported and will contact and engage with the rough sleepers that they find. The Rough Sleeper Service receives around 750 referrals per year. Once a client has been verified by the service this enables them to receive assistance from the Rough Sleeper project group in accordance with requirements from DLUHC. The Rough Sleeper Service assess the needs of individual rough sleepers and offer them options of support and accommodation services. Workers will engage with rough sleepers using a variety of techniques, including motivational interviewing, and offer tailored support. In some cases, this will involve repeated visits and contact with the rough sleeper. Outreach workers will liaise with other agencies with whom the rough sleeper has or has not had contact, including police, health, probation and providers of supported accommodation. The overall aim will be to ensure that the rough sleeper is receiving all necessary support and to try to help them move off the streets and into safe and sustainable accommodation.",
