"title": "Cambridgeshire County Council Provision of a Long Acting Reversible Contraception Training Programme",
"description": "Cambridgeshire County Council is undertaking a Soft Market Test (SMT) to gauge interest in a potential contract for the provision of a Long Acting Reversible Contraception Training Programme. Although the local Integrated Sexual Health Services provides clinical LARC training there is a need to augment training opportunities for the providing LARCs. Primary care is a substantial provider of LARCs in Cambridgeshire especially in the rural areas. However many GPs who have provided LARCS are retiring. In addition five years ago a number of clinicians received local Letters of Competence that enabled them to provide LARCS. These are now expiring and are no longer available. Consequently there will be a shortage of providers and there is an increasingly urgent need to provide additional training opportunities if demand can be met and the consequences of decreased access to contraception avoided. If interested please apply online",
