Activities led under the Syria Independent Monitoring contract ongoing since 2015 (hereafter called 'the current contract') already give DFID assurance and help to drive up the quality of projects in Syria. By increasing verification activities during the scale up period, DFID will be provided with greater assurance and the risk of fraud and aid diversion will be further mitigated.
