"description": "Westminster City Council is developing a district heating scheme for the Church Street area of WCC. In April 2017, WCC secured PS2.56m of grant monies towards the Project from the pilot phase of the Heat Networks Investment Project from the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. The Church Street district heating scheme is a piece of low carbon infrastructure which facilitates the regeneration of the Church Street area in an environmentally responsible way. The scheme will serve 2,500-3,500 homes and several other buildings. The scheme will enable Westminster City Council (WCC) to deliver on its carbon emissions reduction planning policy obligations for new developments. It will future proof the supply of clean heat to existing residents and realises WCC's wider policy objectives in carbon and air quality. Westminster City Council are undertaking this market engagement in order to shape the strategy for our upcoming procurement and would appreciate the input from suppliers into a number of areas such as contract, timescales and route to market. There may also be an opportunity to meet with the team to discuss the scheme once the responses have been collated.",
