The project is partly grant funded. If the Council is successful in securing a grant from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), then a condition of this grant is that the new build elements of the works are assessed following the BREEAM method of assessment and are to achieve a \"Very Good\" rating. The Council is initially therefore only looking for expressions of interest from contractors who have experience in delivering projects that have achieved a BREEAM rating of \"Very Good\" or higher. Note that if the Council is unsuccessful in securing the ERDF grant, then the requirement to achieve a BREEAM rating of \"Very Good\" will be withdrawn from the project before it goes to tender.",
