The fundamental objective underlying this research programme is to reduce the prevalence of excessive vehicle noise by providing local authorities, the police and other local partners with effective enforcement tools capable of identifying excessively noisy vehicles and capturing sufficient evidence to support successful prosecution of offenders.",
