The Environment Agency is looking to determine the most appropriate and a consistent approach to the management of the weirs and sluices across the Areas; i.e. to develop options of where resources and funding would sit and who [which EA function] the weirs and sluices would be managed by in the future. The options should inform which function develops investment plans and what the 'Operator, Maintainer, Responder' roles look like for weirs and sluices in the EA. Key steps are: - to develop the options for a consistent management structure, and - Set out the implications of moving to that approach.",
