The survey and investigations have shown the whole roof of Rockingham Wing to be constructed of RAAC and there are a significant number of RAAC panels, which are in a critical condition in terms of failure. The first floor has therefore been largely vacated and emergency propping has been carried out. A short Option Appraisal was produced to compare the feasibility, cost and programmes for providing a resolution to the problem, which considers: *A medium term (5-10 years) failsafe propping solution *A newbuild extension to permanently vacate the first floor The proposal is to develop this second option in terms of feasibility and deliverability of a traditional build solution.",
