The research will improve our understanding of which UK entrepreneurs (described via demographic and social background characteristics) progress through stages on the 'entrepreneur development journey' to achieve success, and which do not, and why this may be the case. In this, it will consider the role of important external factors, such as social capital, access to finance, and choice of economic activity.",
