Equipment which meets applicable standards are permitted to be used to screen both Hold and Cabin bags in aviation security. These systems are tested and approved for use by a common testing methodology (CTM) and conducted within the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), Common Evaluation Process (CEP). Equipment which is accredited as meeting a standard under the (CEP) is subsequently approved by a national regulator such as the Department for Transport in the UK and the specified system can then be used to screen baggage in regulated airports.",
