"title": "Brent CCG - Community Physiotherapy Services - Market Engagement",
"description": "As part of the NHS Brent Out of Hospital Strategy, Brent CCG is looking at redesigning its community physiotherapy services. The redesign seeks to introduce an improved service that is better able to meet the needs of the registered population by providing care in a community setting. In particular, this means an improvement in waiting times and relating to the administrative processes for booking patient appointments, as well as a change to the clinical model with triage undertaken by Extended Scope Practitioners. The purpose of the commission is to improve quality and waiting times of the community physiotherapy services under a revised service specification. Anticipated benefits include: * Improved clinical model - patients will have access to a high quality, safe, effective and standard service. * Improved waiting times - within 5 to 10 days depending upon urgency * Patients seen in right place first time; * Increased access flexibility and availability - patients may be referred to the service by their GP referral, when appropriate they may be directed to the service without needing to see a GP, or patients may self-refer. * Patients will be able to book their appointments at convenient times to them, including evenings and weekend appointments at the Service locations. * Quality of life improvements through personally tailored care and treatment; * Earlier diagnosis of conditions, through shorter waiting times and the right care first time, allowing for early intervention as clinically appropriate; * Providing services in an environment that supports education, patients and carers, including self-management * Services will be much more integrated/ joined-up - between patients, carers and the clinical team, It is the intention that no matter how patients access the service, they will be clinically assessed to a common standard before a decision is made on the appropriate treatment/care required. The services will have to operate in an integrated way with a single patient record compatible with EMIS Web, which is the standard system used by primary care. The service will also be expected to participate in providing health promotion advice and services for prevention of disease progression including, for example, exercise promotion It is expected the new service will begin in October 2018. It is estimated that the service will need to manage around 66,000 and 80,000 contacts a year. The potential value of the new contact is will be between PS1.8m and PS2.1m a year. Additional information: The CCG wishes to invite potentially interested providers of physiotherapy services to attend a Market Engagement Events between 1000-1200hrs, Thursday 11th January 2018. The purpose of the event is to test the draft service specification and associated commercial options. The event will be held at Brent CCG, Wembley Centre for Health and Care, 116 Chaplin Road, Wembley, HA0 4UZ Please note all participants must pre-register to access the building for the events. If you wish to participate, please contact the Project Team at graham.sowter@nhs.net by 1700hrs Tuesday 9th January 2018 The CCG has also produced a Market Engagement Feedback Document: Potentially interested providers who are not able to attend the Events or wish to provide additional feedback may use this document. A copy of the Feedback Document will be provided to all respondents to this advert. Completed feedback documents must be returned to the Project Team via graham.sowter@nhs.net by 1700hrs Thursday 25th January 2018. Please note - Brent CCG is issuing this notice as a request for information only. This notice does not represent an invitation to tender, nor is it a request for formal expressions of interest. The Market Engagement Events and the Feedback Document do not form any part of an invitation to tender. Any organisation or individual attending the Engagement Event is doing so to support market research only and to help make any potential commissioning process more focused and efficient. No supplier selection or supplier preference is implied. Any information provided by Brent CCG about the requirement and procurement process to be followed is indicative only, and subject to change/confirmation. Potential responders will not be prejudiced in any future procurement processes by either responding or not responding to this soft market engagement exercise.",
