The garden was designed by the famous William Sears, who was well known for his previous garden designs, and who had previously worked on a local scheme at Lindridge Gardens. Features within this historic garden include a ?mock? castle previously used as a summer house, an ornamental Italian garden and a variety of mature plants and trees. The heritage features of the site are in need of restoration to preserve it for future generations; the Authority therefore looked to secure funding to preserve this historic asset. An application was made by Teignbridge District Council Department to the Heritage Lottery Fund for PS275k. This successfully gained Stage 1 Heritage Lottery Funding (HLF) approval, with Teignbridge District Council receiving initial support from the HLF via development grant.
