        "title": "QU329 - Ethnographic research for the Director of Public Health Annual Report 20/21: the impact of Covid-19 on Birmingham",
        "description": "Birmingham Public Health want to present a compelling narrative to capture the complex views and experience from different citizens in the City. The Council is keen to obtain a breadth of representation of different identity aspects to include but not limited to, Older adult, Working Adult, Unemployed Adult, Teenager, White British, White non-British, African-Caribbean, South Asian, Chinese, LGBT person, Disability, Muslim, Sikh, Christian faiths. The ethnographic research will be entwined with local and national evidence to highlight the gaps, need for services and successes from the perspective of those men and women. The purpose of this report is to identify areas of need to better support recovery and minimise inequality experienced in the City as a result of Covid-19. The successful provider will be required to undertake and deliver: o 6-8 ethnographic studies of Birmingham residents identifying as one or more of the following: Older adult, Working Adult, Unemployed Adult, Teenager, White British, White non-British, African-Caribbean, South Asian, Chinese, LGBT person, Disability, Muslim, Sikh, Christian faiths. N.B. one individual may identify with more than one of these groups, however we would like each of these areas to be covered within the 6-8 ethnographic study participants. The ethnography will illustrate: o The prolonged impacts of Covid-19 for example the impact of social distancing, direct and indirect experiences of illness, treatment, death, grief and bereavement; service delivery (if in key worker or other front-line role); mental health and wellbeing o How their Covid-19 journey has impacted on other aspects of their lives, and along their journey what experiences and support needs they have had o Where the system failed the individual and how this could have been prevented o What services were available to them at the time vs. what services they needed o How they currently view life in Birmingham o What support needs they perceive for themselves as individuals, their communities and the City as a whole from their perspective The Contract will run for a period of up to 6 months.
