These aim to provide further improvements for public protection, in the unlikely event of a radiation emergency, through examination of local strategic and practical issues as well as the rigorous technical assessment of radiological hazards on a site. In order to determine the off-site emergency planning area, a number of maps of varying detail and associated data tables relating to populations are to be produced for areas around each GB nuclear site.
