In addition to repairs to the Grade II listed buildings the works involve alterations and improvements to the existing venue including retractable seating, lighting and sound systems, catering and bar fit outs and a new green room. The historically important William Hill organ is to be refurbished. A new build within the existing courtyard will create a new meeting space coupled with a community arts cafe. Important heritage rooms on the first floor will be retained including a court room, council chamber and King Charles room.
