This research project will be completed over a 3 month period. Additional information: Question: The proposal focuses on turbidity as a surrogate for BOD and suspended solids. Are closely related parameters to also be considered as surrogates? For example, ion selective probes using ammonium / phosphate to estimate ammonia / phosphorus? Answer: The focus was on using a totally different parameter and deriving results for another, such as turbidity for suspended solids. If you think there would be any benefit on discussing using different forms of calculations for parameters and how that will benefit on the requirements needed for final effluent continuous monitors, then please do. Our thought is that this will be taken into account in the final effluent continuous monitoring technology project. Question: The proposal asks for using water company data on surrogates. If such information is provided may it be documented only in anonymous, summarised form? Answer: Yes, continuous data will need to be sourced from the Water Companies.
