In turn, this assists the Council with effectively maintaining good health in the workplace and manage sickness absence. The Council currently provides a comprehensive package of occupational health and wellbeing services to the approximately 5,500 employees of the Councils core workforce, as well as its arms-length organisations such as Your Homes Newcastle, Newcastle Schools and Academies and Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums. The Occupational Health Unit has 4 Physician sessions per month. As a result, the Council wish to establish a contract with a suitably qualified provider to assist in the delivery of Physician services for Occupational Health.
