The versatility of CO2 laser fibre splicers extends beyond mere splicing applications. These devices are adept at tapering single fibres and fibre bundles, a process that involves carefully altering the diameter of the fibres. Furthermore, CO2 laser fibre splicers prove invaluable in tasks such as attaching end-cups and preparing fibre ends. In addition to the CO2 laser source, the splicer comprises a fibre alignment and fibre holding mechanism, power and energy controls, splice quality monitoring, fibre compatibility, user interface and provides maintenance and support.",
