The requirements for 2 Admission Avoidance beds across the city and 4 Discharge 2 Assess beds across the city The purpose of the services are similar and are to offer a safe and responsive service to older or vulnerable people who attend the Accident and Emergency department at Royal Wolverhampton Trust (RWT) to avoid hospital admission when the person does not have a medical need to be admitted (Admission Avoidance) or to provide a safe environment for a person to be Discharged for Assessment in a care home because they cannot go home immediately (Discharge to Assess).
