Background Across the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and associated agencies there is work exploring the potential use of REM on fishing vessels as it is an important tool for improving monitoring of fishing activity. There is now a need to undertake a piece of work to look at how data collected under different potential applications of REM could be integrated and used most efficiently by those who need the data.
