The successful supplier of this service will ensure a high-quality service which complies with The Care and Support (Independent Advocacy Support) (No.2) Regulations 2014. The Advocacy Service for Vulnerable Adults on the Isle of Wight will deliver the statutory duties of the Isle of Wight Authority for provision of independent advocacy under the terms of the Care Act 2014, the Mental Health Act 2007 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 including the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (Paid Representatives) which will be amended by the forthcoming changes within the Mental Capacity Amendment Act 2019. The service will provide advocacy support across all categories of need including, but not limited to, adults with learning disabilities, dementia, mental health needs, acquired brain injury, physical and sensory impairments.
