However, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, it was necessary to extend the existing GLA. The pandemic led to: (a) volatility in the air-cargo market ; (b) a need for FCDO Services to reconsider the contract requirements in the medium to long term given the climate; and (c) FCDO Services needing to divert personnel away from the procurement process to restart and recover its logistics operations. This meant FCDO Services was not in a position to confirm its service requirements for a new contract. The new procurement commenced in Sept 2021 (FTS ref 2021/S 000-024163) to replace this agreement"
