In July 2022 Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust (BEHMHT) gave notice on the provision of the Enfield Community Services (ECS) with the aim being that they divest themselves of the service by December 2022. During August and into September the ICB has negotiated with BEHMHT on this matter in terms of the timeline and whether this could be extended but it is now clear that BEHMHT are not able to extend this period of notice to allow for a procurement. Therefore the ICB is left in the position of not having sufficient time to organise a full procurement and therefore must put in place a caretaking arrangement. As such, North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust (NMUH) has been identified to take on a caretaking role for ECS for an initial 1 year contract with the option to extend by a further year to accommodate the time needed for a full procurement.
