SALMO have determined that currently only FET can supply the ROV that fully meets all the Key User Requirements (KUR's) which are: Depth rating and ability to upgrade to threshold; Payload Capacity; Operating System and INS - ability to dynamically position; UK Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for Support; good material condition with supporting evidence and the customers operational timescales. The ROV was manufactured and supported by FET as OEM. After completion of a technical assessment, only FET holds all the available technical information (drawings, interfaces, test and calibration specifications/procedures, jigs and tools etc.), and has the technical expertise, knowledge and know-how necessary to assure the safety of the equipment. This information is not available to the Authority as it is owned by FET.
