This could be due to unplanned outages or when it will not take certain residual waste streams. Previous years usage estimates circa 6,000-12,000 tonnes per annum is likely to through this contract. The value of which is cPS1.3m over an estimated term of 6 years. The Council is aiming for zero waste to landfill as soon as possible, so it is important to procure a contingency residual waste arrangement that avoids landfill. Treatment of Garden Waste This contract is for the receipt and treatment of garden waste. Previous years usage estimates circa 16,000 tonnes per annum will go through this contract. The value of which is cPS1.3m over an estimated term of 6 years. The contracts will start 1 March 2024. It is likely that we will place these opportunities into Lots, but that will form part of our discussions with the market. As highlighted above, BANES have expressed an interest in a collaborative procurement for residual and possibly joining the Garden waste contract later in 2024.
