Despite the government increasing funding for councils over recent years, a combination of high inflation and rising demand has left local authorities facing some of their toughest budgetary decisions to date and has meant that there is a stronger focus on ensuring risks are managed effectively. In particular, the Council continues to face tough financial challenges as was recently reported on our website: Devon County Council's budget in the black despite unprecedented financial pressures - News Unfortunately, we had a limited response to the invitation to tender. Given the current financial climate, the one council approach, the ever changing needs of our services and our ability to be flexible and have future proofed systems we have taken the difficult decision to abandon the procurement and re-evaluate the service needs and requirements at this time.",
