Due to the additional services added to the contract during the initial term, in taking the extension the total value of the contract will be above threshold and the original contract was procured via a below threshold tender process. The Council requires ongoing use of the system for the full term of the contract as use is now embedded across the Council. Introducing a new system would have significant financial and resource implications for the Council and could result in a detrimental impact on the Council's ability to effectively manage health and safety across the organisation. The Council will be retendering the system at the end of the full term of the contract and will be able to implement any new arrangements in a properly planned and co-ordinated manner."
