The Authority has elected to source under the Open Procedure as set out in the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (reg 27). This procedure allowed suitable suppliers in the market an opportunity to participate in the tender process and provided more tender responses for the Trust to effectively identify a suitable supplier.
The new contract will replace six (6) Heart Lung Machines. Post-tender, the Trust intends to proceed with the purchase once the procurement process has been fully completed, in order to address the issue in terms of identified clinical risk.
The service will include all required components (e.g., software updates, upgrades, and maintenance). In addition, training and support will be provided to Clinical Perfusion staff and any support staff with regard to the Heart Lung Machines operation for the duration of the contract.",
