NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands CSU (AGCSU) is acting as an agent for and on behalf of NICB and is supporting this Provider Selection Regime Competitive Process. <br/>The service will include:<br/>Postoperative Cataract Follow ups<br/>* A post-operative assessment following cataract surgery to be performed by optometrists in optical practices for those people who have uncomplicated surgery and no significant comorbidities specifically requiring a hospital post-operative assessment (i.e. most patients). <br/>* The outcome and dataset required to complete the NOD cataract audit is reported to the surgical provider, as recommended by NICE NG77 and GIRFT. <br/>* Patients with low-risk post-operative issues to be managed by their optometrist <br/><br/>Hydroxychloroquine Screening<br/>* Annual screening of all Northamptonshire patients prescribed Hydroxychloroquine or Chloroquine and at risk of retinopathy.<br/>* Where appropriate, onward referral to HES including all diagnostic findings.<br/><br/>Stable Glaucoma Monitoring <br/>* Annual monitoring of a fixed cohort of patients diagnosed by the HES as low risk of contracting Glaucoma. <br/>* Where appropriate, onward referral to HES including all diagnostic findings.<br/><br/>The contract will be for a period of 3 years with the option to extend for up to a further 2 years, commencing 1st August 2026.<br/><br/>Please note there is a financial threshold associated with this procurement.
