(i) the need for modification has been brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority could not have foreseen; - The Contracting Authority could not have reasonable foreseen the future of the Great North Healthcare Alliance Strategy when procuring the original requirement in 2021. The strategy requires enhanced sharing of information and improved collaborative and operational delivery and associated outcomes.
(ii) the modification does not alter the overall nature of the contract; - This modification and incorporation of Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust requirements is within the overall nature of the original contract requirements, providing the Trust with a laboratory information management system and supporting services.
(iii) the increase in price does not exceed 50% of the value of the original contract or framework agreement. - This modification and incorporation of Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust remains within the allowable 50% of the value of the original contract of PS11,464,918, which includes permitted extensions. The value of the modification is PS4,529,961.",
