The Authority has completed a Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation Assessment (GTAA) to identify the required number of pitches and plots across North Yorkshire for the next 15 years. National planning policy requires Local Plans to ensure that adequate provision is made to meet this identified need. It is expected that new sites may need to be allocated, or existing sites within North Yorkshire may need to be expanded, which could include those owned by the Authority. Should a need be identified, it is anticipated that the management of any new sites would fall under this contract.
