"title": "Check Point Equipment and Support",
"description": "DHCW requires two (2) Check Point logging appliances and two (2) management servers. This requirement has been identified following a recent network incident, which required the data centres to be failed over. It is essential that these are procured to manage operational and reputational risk for DHCW as the provider of National Services across Wales. Please note this contract is a direct award noting Regulation 32(b)(ii) of The Public Contracts Regulations 2015 where the works, supplies or services can be supplied only by a particular economic operator for any of the following reasons:--(ii)competition is absent for technical reasonsThe Authority identifies SEP2 as the Check Point partner who understands the configuration of the Check Point appliances and provides the existing support contract to the Authority. If the Authority sought an alternative solution to the Check Point Appliances it would need to develop and maintain skills with another technological solution and would need another support partner which would result in disproportionate technical difficulties for the Authority.",
