Modernising assessment work is about ensuring that assessments taken as part of qualifications in the future enhance, and strike an optimal balance between, four important assessment principles: validity, engagement, manageability, and reliability, including through the effective use of digital technologies (DT). Qualifications Wales want to award a contract for research services that will aim to:1. explore the research evidence on the effectiveness of Continuous Assessment (CA) including any role played by Digital Technology (literature review)2. consider several relevant examples of summative CA used in national/jurisdictional assessment systems, including any role played by DT (case studies)3. use the findings from the first two outputs to describe plausible scenarios/opportunities for use of (digitalised) CA within a general and vocational qualifications context in Wales.",
