The services provided are primarily to meet Scottish statutory requirements to support and case manage offenders during custody and, in specific cases, to monitor them following release (e.g. Integrated Case Management, Parole Board and extended sentence reports, risk assessments,etc). This work forms the core of the services however there is also a small non-core element in some prisons where Social Work staff provide a range non-statutory professional interventions to support offenders and SPS.     "description": "The relevant Scottish Local Authority which contains a public prison have each been providing these services to the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) under a Service Level Agreement (SLA) over the past 5 years. This voluntary ex-ante transparency notice (VEAT) reflects SPS intention to extend the existing Service Level Agreements for both the core and non-core work annually from April 2017. The annual value of the individual Service Level Agreements varies from between GBP 100,000 up to GBP 650,000 which reflects the different size of the social work team provided by the Local Authority to address the caseload associated with the prisoner population in each prison. The SLA provides an agreed basis for each Local Authority to charge SPS for the services. (SC Ref:489965)",
