The event consisted of a communal project update session and one to one interviews with tier 1 contractors who expressed strong interest in the GAIA project. The Council has considered feedback from these contractors both in questionnaires previously issued to, and completed by, the contractors and the one to one interviews in the development of the intended procurement strategy. The Council is issuing this PIN to update the market and allow them to prepare for the tender. The Council's intended approach is to use the restricted procedure to procure a Design and Build (including defects maintenance) Contract with one Contractor likely in the form of an NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract Option A Fixed Price Lump Sum with an Activity Schedule. The Council is issuing this PIN to update the market and allow them to prepare for the tender. Please refer to section VI.3 Additional Information for details on the proposed procurement programme, noting that this is provisional and subject to change..     "description": "It is the Council's intention to submit planning applications in June 2017. The Council intends to publish the contract notice and issue the request to participate in August 2017 prior to receiving a planning decision. It is the Council's intention to reduce the number of suitable candidates invited to participate in the tender procedure to a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 5 Contractors. If the planning permissions are granted, the Council propose to issue Invitations to Tender in October 2017. The time limit for receipt of tenders is anticipated to be between 10 and 12 weeks. The Council intends to seek approval to award a Contract in May 2018 with Contract Award anticipated shortly after. As the Council is still in the early stages of drafting and developing procurement documents, feedback from Contractors on the proposed procurement strategy and programme detailed in this PIN and information presented previously at the Market Engagement Day is welcome.
