The popular venue is iconic and unique to the City, and hosts a diverse and growing ice programme including public sessions, figure, synchronized and ice hockey disciplines. Events are held at the ice rink, with up to 1,100 people in attendance. In addition, the rink hosts international figure skating competitions which draw over 300 competitors and spectators from around the world. Our aspiration for the rink is to be the leading ice rink in Scotland, and lead the way in terms of programming, sustainability and quality of services. Our mission statement is to \"get more people skating\". There is a planned closure of the ice rink for a 3 week period from 17th July 2017. In this time many essential repairs will take place to the ice pad and surrounding areas, including the changing rooms. We have also procured a dehumidifier which will be installed in Summer/Autumn 2017. In total, around 130,000 GBP is being spent on improving the venue. To coincide with this programme of improvement we are seeking quotes to manage and complete to a high standard, the preparation, painting and decoration of the main customer facing areas with a view of creating a 'blank cavass' for which we will then brand in-house via our Marketing team. Essential areas to be quoted for include; 1. Entrance vestibule 2. Main reception atrium (including high level masonry and support beams) 3. The main wall adjacent to the ice pad Desired areas to be quoted for include; 4. Adjacent stairwell leading to the bar level 5. External canopy area 6. The ice hall spectator walk way (both spectator stands) Works must be complete during the upcoming planned 3-week closure..
