Research evidence accumulated internationally has consistently shown that children and young people who are taught about these issues in school are more likely to delay the onset of sexual activity and are more likely to experience positive outcomes when they do enter into sexual relationships. In Scotland, it is expected that these core aspects of human experience are taught to all children and young people from age 3 to 18 years as part of the Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood (RSHP) organiser.
