DESCRIPTION OF WORK Project 1: Blythswood Court The existing installation in each building consists of a pair of electric geared traction 8 person lifts designated for passenger use and serving 16 floors with a single entrance having power operated single panel car and landing doors. The proposed works comprise the sequential modernisation of the lift engineering installations with the manufacture, site erection, commissioning, certifying and maintenance for 1 year following practical completion of new lift cabins and slings, new car doors and door operators, new landing entrances and architraves, utilising microprocessor control and closed loop VVVF drive systems to maximise ride quality and energy efficiency together with new matched motors and gearboxes, brakes, ropes, pulleys and sheaves. The proposed works comprise the decommissioning and complete removal of the existing lift installation and for the manufacture, site erection, commissioning, certifying and maintenance for 1 year following practical completion of one machine-room-less, AC gearless traction passenger lift package incorporating VVVF drive system to maximise ride quality and energy. The works shall be undertaken during the continued occupation of the building and the Contractor shall be responsible for the safeguarding of landings and lift entrances during the works. No opportunity to undertake site inspections shall be available during the pre-qualification stage. (SC Ref:524955)",
