Scottish Government will fully finance the capital costs of such funds, and will also pay a management fee to successful bidders. Fee levels are not capped but will be determined by a 'best value for money' assessment as part of the bidding process. Realisations from each of the funds managed by successful bidders will accrue to Scottish Government, specifically the SME Holding Fund. Scottish Government will allocate 75 million GBP - 105 million GBP to successful bidders who will then invest their respective funds over a 3 year period from August 2018, followed by a portfolio management period. There is the possibility of additional funds becoming available over a longer investment period (up to December 2023), subject to performance.
