                "description": "SPS are looking to appoint a service provider to deliver a Modern Apprenticeship Programme for Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineers for the period 2018-2022. It is anticipated that there will be eleven Modern Apprentices provisionally based at the following SPS locations: HMP Inverness HMP & YOI Grampian (Peterhead) HMP Castle Huntly (near Dundee) HMP Edinburgh HMP Shotts HMPYOI Polmont (near Falkirk). HMP Dumfries HMP Barlinnie (Glasgow) HMP Low Moss (Bishopbriggs) HMP Perth The age profile of the apprentices will be dependent on the outcome of the SPS recruitment process. The apprenticeship will consist of: (Year 1) SVQ Level 2 and National Certificate delivered at a local college or training centre (Year 2-4) SVQ Level 3 which will be based at a SPS site. The core MA disciplines will be in either mechanical or electrical maintenance engineering. There may be a requirement for additional training modules at local college and any provider would be expect to manage this on behalf of the SPS. Apprentice reviews by the successful service provider would be every 8 weeks or so. It is anticipated that the MA programme will run for a 4 year period. The successful service provider will apply for all eligible funding for the SPS via Skills Development Scotland. The successful service provider would verify apprentice portfolios and submit to EAL and SEMTA for approval. It is anticipated that the programme will commence in August 2018 to coincide with the start of the College year.",
