                "description": "The island of Kerrera is located in the Firth of Lorne just off the mainland. The public ferry to Kerrera leaves from a slipway at Gallanach, two miles south of Oban along the coast road and lands at a second slipway directly across the Firth of Lorne. Access to Kerrera is only possible by vessel. The site comprises the existing breakwater structure located on Kerrera. The site is currently operated by Calmac Ferries Limited (CFL), who provide a vehicle and passenger service between the Isle of Kerrera and Gallanach, on the mainland. The site location plan is provided within this Tender pack. The Works to be completed do not cover the full extent of the CMAL owned site but rather the areas indicated within the Tender drawings. The works are primarily for the repair of the existing breakwater structure at Kerrera. The outer sheet piled cell of the breakwater structure is to be carefully demolished and re-built on a like-for-like basis such that the structure can fulfil it's 50-year design life. A full description of the Works is given in the Works Specification (Schedule 5). Specifically, these Works require the Contractor to carry out work adjacent to, below and above the sea.",
