It has been well looked after and maintained by the congregation but now needs a programme of repairs and upgrading to give it a sustainable future. In 2016 the Church commissioned LDN Architects to undertake a full Strategic Study of the Auld Kirk to identify and cost a programme of repairs to the fabric and an upgrading of facilities and access. The work includes a major overhaul of the roofs, repointing of the walls both externally and internally, drainage works, new heating system and disabled toilet, etc. A copy of the Study will be made available to the successful consultant. The indicative costs for the repair and upgrading works to the Kirk is around 300,000 GBP. The Church has been awarded a first-round pass by the Heritage Lottery Fund and a development grant which will allow part 1 of this work to be commissioned.
