                "description": "This procurement is to appoint a supplier to provide the following: A confocal microscope. The minimum requirements for the confocal microscope are detailed below: Inverted and motorised system Touchscreen control Light source (brightfield transmission and epifluorescence) Simple switching between eyepiece viewing and confocal imaging Motorised fluorescence unit with filter blocks for DAPI/FITC/Rhodamine Motorised shutter Equipped to carry out light brightfield, DIC, and fluorescence visual observations Capable of direct epifluorescence viewing Parameters visible via an LCD screen Fast switching between coarse and fine focus Motorised objective revolver Plan Apo Objectives with DIC: x10, x20 dry, x63 oil Motorised z-focus that has high accuracy and stability Ability to perform high resolution and accurate imaging of z stacks Highly accurate and motorised X/Y stage (and suitable software) to enable tile-scanning, auto-stitching and mark-and-find applications Full microscope live cell incubation chamber with temperature, CO2 and humidity control Equipped with a physical mount for a camera Microscope AV table Condenser lens assembly The minimum requirements for the confocal laser scanning unit are detailed below: Multi-dimensional imaging (combinations of x, y, z, time and wavelength) Tuneable speed high resolution confocal scanner, with frame resolution up to 8000 pixels Four fluorescence/reflected light detectors - two should be high sensitivity low noise GaAsP, with photon counting. All detectors should allow real time spectral selection over a wavelength range of 400-800nm (only three detectors are required (1 photon counting) if the system can accommodate an existing \"HyD\" detector) 5 Solid State Lasers: 405, 488, 514, 552 & 638nm or similar wavelengths User-friendly control software Freely tunable detection windows determined by user in range of 400-800nm Transmitted light detector Ability to perform FRAP and FRET experiments, with the required software included and integrated with the main confocal software system Equipped with an optical zoom Equipped with a z-focusing mechanism High speed scanning mode Super Resolution/Enhanced Resolution module, which should allow simultaneous and multi-colour acquisition and resolution improvement with live cells, with an adaptive approach to Image restoration and deconvolution. Resolution improvement should be to at least 130nm in XY and 350nm in Z. Ability to perform line and frame averaging User adjustable pinhole Z-stack scanning with mark-and-find time series Minimum z range of 100 m The minimum requirements for computer and software are detailed below: Intuitive and robust software for integrated microscope control and image acquisition via camera and detectors for confocal Hardware and software should have a simple user interface for novice users Suitable high performance PC Workstation with fast CUDA graphics, large monitor, keyboard and mouse Software should be reliable, flexible and robust Confocal control software for all acquisition modes, spectral scanning and dye separation, 3D, FRAP/FRET, image processing and measurement The complete software package shall be fully compatible with and fully integrated with all of the hardware systems proposed as part of the confocal laser scanning microscope system. Digital zoom The system should be open platform design with scope for easy addition of further add-ons, including STED super resolution imaging and fluorescence lifetime (FLIM) imaging, additional detectors and alternative fast live cell resonant scanner The university requires the following: Contractor is responsible for delivering and installing the system and ensuring that it is working as expected 5-year warranty to cover all parts and servicing (included in pricing schedule) 72 hour call out for engineer response Initial training should be provided following set-up of the system Full training course onsite after installation, date to be mutually agreed, for a minimum of three university personnel.",
