It is anticipated that the project will now be approximately 50% M&E focussed and 50% builders work. The value of the works is estimated at 2.8M GBP with a site start expected by October 2019 and target completion of March-end 2020. Several works elements will be included in the contract as summarised; 1. Substantial ventilation replacement and upgrade works so that the main ward areas can be positively pressurised with HEPA filtered air and an appropriate pressure cascade system can be adopted. The creation of ward isolation facilities and the fitting of two transfer lobbies at either end of the ward. Work will also be required to minimise the air leakage from pressurised areas involving the replacement with lay-in ceilings with solid ceilings. Builders work will include the creation of a new plant room, service risers and lobby spaces as well as the removal and replacement of general ceilings throughout to facilitate the ventilation works. The M&E works will include the installation of new duplex ventilation plant and controls linked to the sites BMS system, ductwork and HEPA filtration. Alterations to some of the supply lines for the water and medical gas systems in order to accommodate the new ventilation works is likely. 2. The full strip out and refitting of several wet rooms. 3. Extensive replacement of the floor finish throughout. 4. Spatial reconfiguration to a dedicated radiation therapy cancer care suite including alterations to lead wall partitions and the manufacture of lead rated viewing screens. 5.
