Day of the Region is a transnational cooperation project, first delivered in Dumfries & Galloway in 2011 involving a number of EU partner regions. The aim of this commission is to evaluate and report on the impact, achievements and potential legacy of Day of the Region 2014-2019. The findings will provide the LEADER Local Action Group with a comprehensive evaluation report which will have the potential to encourage future community projects to build on the Day of the Region successes. The report should include recommendations on how the work of Day of the Region can live on in Dumfries and Galloway including comparisons to other European successes. It should provide a commentary on how projects like Day of the Region can link most effectively with other EU, national and local funding streams. The successful consultant or consortium will demonstrate a person-centred approach and have extensive experience in community engagement in rural areas. Community engagement should be person centred and produce good case studies through a variety of engagement methods which must include face to face meetings within the communities.
