    "description": "Cassiltoun HA Ltd plans to directly award a contract to Cruden Homes (West) Ltd to design and construct 60No. flats in the Castlemilk area of Glasgow. Cruden Homes (West) Ltd control a part of the land on which the proposed development will take place. Without the land in question, the scheme cannot realistically progress. For technical and logistical reasons arising out of this ownership situation, it is impractical for any other developer to carry out the works and therefore it is proposed to make this award without opening up the project for open competition. That said, the Association has employed cost consultants to ensure that value for money is achieved on the project. It will also be subject to cost scrutiny and value for money assessment by Glasgow City Council (as grant funders of the development) through the Affordable Housing Supply Programme.
