NMS spends in the order of 2 million (GBP) annually on OpEx (Operating Expenses) e.g. property maintenance covering Reactive events, Lifecycle and Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) works. A large proportion of this is dedicated to an ongoing programme of major repair and improvement projects, with an element of minor new works. Annually NMS have a Capital budget over and above this OpEx sum, which may be awarded to the Hard Facilities Management Maintenance Contractor, following NMS procurement processes. The Capital Budget for property related works is general in the region of 1 million (GBP) p.a., over the next several years.",

        "reviewDetails": "National Museums Scotland (NMS) will incorporate a minimum of a 10 calendar day standstill period from the point at which information on the award of the contract is communicated to tenderers. If unsuccessful tenderers have any concerns about the process, and/or its outcome, they should be raised during the standstill period. This period allows unsuccessful tenderers to seek further debriefing from the contracting authority before the contract is entered into. If an appeal regarding the award of contract has not been successfully resolved within a reasonable period, The Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations (SSI 2006 No.1) provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rule to take action in the Sheriff Court of Session. Any such action must be brought promptly (generally within 3 months). Before approaching the court seeking any legal remedies, a tenderer must inform the contracting authority and explain the basis for its court application.",
