The works are predominantly oil paintings from a range of date periods, and most are framed. The frames are in a variety of styles, ranging from ornate gilded frames to simple modern styles, and a small number of works are unframed. The works are a variety of sizes and weights. In the event that the Council require further remedial treatments on paintings, the Council reserves the right to directly appoint the Service Provider appointed for this contract to provide future remedial treatments. The decision to award a contract directly to the appointed Service Provider is at the Council's sole discretion and will be determined by the Council with consideration to the principles of best value, the Council's Standing Orders relating to Contracts, the applicable procurement regulations and the capacity of the Service Provider.
