These blocks are currently being cleared with occupants being re housed. On completion the blocks are scheduled for demolition. Each block is 23 storeys with 138 flats/block. They are in a dense urban location with other buildings, including a child care facility, in close proximity. The Association intends to let a demolition contract on a design and deconstruct basis. In order to develop tender documentation and employers requirements for this contract the Association will appoint a technical advisor to provide technical input into the tender process and provide supervision of the works post tender. The scope of service required from the technical advisor is outlined below. The technical advisor role will also incorporate the provision of the Principal Designer role pre tender and may include the Principal Designer Role post contract. The exemplar projects must have completed in the last three years and the individuals who provided the services must be those proposed for the direct delivery of the services to New Gorbals under this commission. One of the projects must have involved demolition by use of controlled explosives and one must have involved demolition by controlled deconstruction. The exemplar projects must involve the provision of services including: a) Detailed demolition option appraisal (including structural surveys/assessments and consideration of the demolition mechanism) b) The design, or assessment, of any temporary preparatory works (including structural alterations, pre weakening and/or shoring). c) Site inspection of the works. Details of the services provided should be given. One of the projects should include the provision of the pre-tender CDM principal designer service. For each project provide the project name, a description of the works and the works contract value, and the completion date. Detail the precise scope of the services provided and the names, CV and qualifications of the individual(s) from your organisation who provided the services and will be involved in the delivery of services to New Gorbals Housing Association. Provide sufficient detail to demonstrate how the exemplar projects demonstrate you meet the requirements The response must be limited to 4 sides of A4 text. The examples will be scored on scale of 0-4. The scoring scale is appended to this contract notice."
